Q: What Is This Site?
A: Dark Water Pirate is a site dedicated to streaming out all 21 episodes of the cartoon series “The Pirates of Dark Water.” This is a tribute to a great work that was cut short and is replayed very little by it’s owners.
Q: Is This Legal?
A: Sort of. In base terms, the owners of the series (Warner Brothers) can ask that this site be taken down at any time for almost any reason. I ask only that if that company does ask me to take it down they have a Good reason. From what I’ve seen, they care very little about this series so it is up to the fans to keep it going.
Q: Why Are You Doing This?
A: For the fans who want to see the series. For the kids who haven’t seen what animation used to be like before the modern cartoons began dominating. For the people who like good old fashioned animation with a Plot and good Characters. And also for the people who don’t want to stay up until 4:30AM just in case a major network Might be playing an episode.
Q: Why Can’t I See The Movies?
A: You will need the latest version of Flash and a connection faster than dialup. These files are about 80Mb a piece and well, slower connections just don’t cut it as well.
Q: Can I Load All The Episodes At Once?
A: I’d rather you not. This site uses a lot of bandwidth to deliver these movies and one at a time per person is better than all at once. I don’t mind if watch all 21 episodes in a row. Just try not to stress the server out while doing it.
Q: What Happens If We Do Stress The Server Out?
A: Then this site goes back to one or two episodes a week. This site is a test that hopefully will work out for the best and let people access any episode at any time. Suffice it to say; not killing the server is a good thing. I don’t need angry phone calls from Texas because I’m killing the pipe, know what I mean?
Q: Why Does This Site Have Ads?
A: Because the server doesn’t pay for itself. They aren’t obtrusive and are completely optional. I like being able to distribute free content, I just need a bit of money to help out sometimes.
